| | Is it just me, or does there seem to be a lack among Christians today of being able to define the Gospel? What is it about Jesus that make Him so great? He changes lives. But how does He change lives? What practical things does He do to make life better or more fulfilled? What does is the point of the Gospel? To change lives, bringing more glory and honor to Christ in the lives of individuals? Then why are so few lives truly and entirely changed? Some lives are, but far more are trying the "brand of the Gospel" that we are presenting to them, and rejecting it. Why? What are the reasons for this? Perhaps it is because we don't offer them the real Gospel. Perhaps it is because we're presenting a "Gospel" of merely "happy" news, rather than the (sometimes hard, but always) Good News. Maybe we are preaching a "happiness gospel," where the end-all, meet-all becomes living a life with contentment and satisfaction, filling the "empty void" if you will. And many people who claim to have found the answer still have that void, and are still trying to fill it with empty, worthless things that will never be able to complete them. We can sure put on a good show. We can make people think we are different by the way we act, the way we talk, the things we do or don't do...but the fundamental difference lies primarily in how one views God. Too often, we just see Him as a "Jolly Good Fellow"
.... More to come ...
